buckwaliAn individual would like to know what this deer would score; would it be considered a trophy buck and its approximate age. Their Dad shot it in 1974. It certainly would be on my wall.

TomKovalakThanks for posting my picture. That deer was shot in 1974 somewhere near Dexter. I believe my dad still has the mount. If so, I'm going to get it officially scored. Tom Kovalak

Well, I finally heard from my father that he no longer has the mount. It was stolen from his barn down in Grant, Alabama. I guess I'll never be able to determine exactly how big this deer was. He did say it had a 27 inch inside beam spread. Too bad!!

JakeWow, What a monster. It looks like a Boone & Crockett Buck to me. Should be interesting to see how it is scored. Best of Luck...

it looks like a fake to me
after rompolla gate i dont trust
to many deer that look like that

TomKovalakToo bad you feel that way. It's a shame that the Rompola deer made so many people skeptical about large deer. That deer is very real! It's a 26 year old polaroid picture and that's my mother holding the deer. We didn't doctor the picture, or the deer. I will check with my dad, but I think he still has the mount at his house in Tustin, MI. IT'S A REAL DEER!

If you'll look above, you'll see that the deer mount was stolen, so I will never be able to measure it for an official score. Tom Kovalak 12/22/00

DaveThe Deer was stolen? What a shame. It would of been interesting to see what the official scoring would of been. At least you have a picture of it....
